Recital is scheduled for the end of the school year.
This is when students perform what they have learned throughout the year.
Costumes will be required if a student is to participate in the recital.
Costumes run approximately $75-$100 per costume (ballet/tap combo classes will
have one costume unless the theme of the show will not allow). There will
be a recital fee of $50.00 per student. All costume moneys will be due and
payable in full by January 15th for your child to participate in the recital.
A $50 deposit per costume per student is payable on October 1st,
November 1st, and/or December 1st.
Costume fees not received by the due date of January 15th will be charged $10.00 per costume.
Stage Door School of Dance also performs at and for various civic organizations
in town and out of town during the year to enhance our performance skills and to
instill self-confidence, for instance; Senior Citizen Centers, Area Malls,
Midlothian Fall Festival, Dance for the Planet Festival, and
Midlothian Spring Fling, are a few. Check your yearly planner for dates &
times of events. Recital is scheduled for June 9, 2007 at the Waxahachie
Fine Arts Center at Waxahachie High School.
The recital is a major device used by this school to
MOTIVATE your child. It is something he
or she can look forward to or back upon with pride.
Because of the training and
discipline involved, we attempt to create a professional attitude.
All is done to make this a pleasant and worthwhile experience for your
child and you. WE CANNOT DO THIS WITHOUT YOUR COOPERATION.
One learns to perform by performing.
The recital is to demonstrate talent and is a part of the training
experience. Recitals must aim to develop the student's poise,
confidence, and pride, and also increase her knowledge and appreciate of
the Arts. Therefore, OUR MAIN GOAL - THE CHIEF PURPOSE IS THE
PLEASURE, EDUCATION AND MOTIVATION OF THE STUDENT.....
IMPORTANT: Backstage, as well as on
stage, a student should strive to be professional, courteous, and an
inspiration to her colleagues and to her teachers. DO NOT
FORGET THAT OTHERS WOULD ENJOY HEARING KIND WORDS FROM YOU.

Although pony tails or loose hair
for a specific dance may be desirable, the general hairdo for all dancers
is a small chignon (bun) placed at the diagonal with the chin (diagram).
If hair is short, please have it done away from the face to avoid hair
down in the eyes.
